TO BE ABLE TO LIVE HEALTHY, to be able to sustain and develop our state of health, to be able to protect it from harms, and to be able to regain it when we lose it, we need access to health services. International treaties and national constitution that recognize the “right to health”, and various current legislations call for our free and effective benefit from the health services.

However, public health services that are being provided for the people of our country are increasingly and intensively becoming PRIVATIZED at every level and in every place, and so it is becoming MORE AND MORE IMPOSSIBLE for us to benefit from them as rights.

Today it has become an urgency to defend these rights within the framework of “right to access and benefit health services”, which we had been struggling to do until now within the ambit of “patient rights”. It is utmost important to work through this goal not only as the receivers of health services, but also with the active participation of whole society from health workers who provide the service to sensitive and aware constituencies, from workers to intellectuals.

We have come together, again, to create a “new organization on the basis of right to health”. We have discussed altogether, consulted many people that are a part to the issue, on the type of an organization this ought to be. In the end we have established our assembly on 24th of June 2005 with “29 FOUNDING MEMBERS”.

We have been announced of the confirmation of our statute on 2005 November. After a brief period of preparation, we have realized our I. REGULAR MEETING on 4th of May 2005.

Our real task begins from now on.

In all the processes related to health services in our country, our assembly will take its side as shoulder to shoulder with the society. For this to be strong enough, your participation is necessary. We expect you to be with us in this daunting task for all of us.
